For those interested in such topics, the Security Focus website has
published an excellent four-part document on information security laws and
the ways those laws can affect security professionals. While none of them
explicitly addresses security concerns within an academic environment, as the
author states "the way the law treats a particular topic provides one point of
focus that may help you allocate effort and resources to best effect. "
Part One: Protecting Private Sector Systems, and Information Security
Professionals and Trade Secrets
Part Two: Protecting Private Sector Systems and Securing the
Working Environment
Part Three: Information Security and the Public Sector-An Introduction to
the Criminal Law of Information Security
Part Four: Information Security and the Public Sector-An Introduction to
the National Security Law of Information Security
I hope you find some or all of information useful.
