It depends which solution you are looking for. If you want to be able to login to different domains then that can be done with one NIC. Assuming that you are using NT, you simply create a computer account (for your laptop) on each domain. Off course a NIC can only be part of one domain at any particular time but that should not prevent you from login on to different domains. A separate user profile is created for each domain that you logon to. One if the things that a DC needs to validate a workstation a valid GUID (Globally Unique IDentifier). One is created for each computer account except for Win9x.
