Subject: MNFI job posting for 2026 field season


Good morning!

Today we posted a position for several seasonal biologists for Michigan Natural Features Inventory, it will be open for 6 weeks. I would appreciate if you would share with recent graduates or outstanding undergrad students.

Successful candidates will work with rare barrens insects, like Karner blue and Frosted elfin, as well as Mitchell’s satyr and/or Poweshiek skipperling. We also have bird projects studying waterfowl in managed areas, American Goshawks, Red-headed Woodpeckers, Golden-winged Warblers, and potentially more (turtles, mammals).

This position involves lots of travel around Michigan – including 1-2 candidates who may join us on one of two Isle Royale trip this summer - and we have lots of flexibility with start and end dates, with a very busy May-July.
