Subject: Assistant Prof position at Texas State University
External Email - Exercise Caution
Colleagues,
It seems it is a very busy season for faculty hiring this fall. Following the recent trend of announcement in our mammal discussion list I am please to share with you the job ad for an Assistant Professor in Wildlife Ecology position at my institution (see attached and below). I will appreciate your help to distribute this widely. As you can read in the ad, the taxon focus can be for any group of terrestrial vertebrates. Thus, not restricted to mammals (if you have overlap with other relevant professional groups feel free to forward job ad). More relevant that a specific taxon is that we are looking for someone with strong quantitative skills and the ability to help field based courses associated to our wildlife program.
Our institution is centrally located along the Austin – San Antonio corridor, which is experiencing a strong growth. This is reflected in the University as we recently reached 40 K students and likely will continue growing. The Biology department is very diverse and large with multiple graduate and undergraduate programs, thus plenty opportunities exist to collaborate across fields.
For this faculty search I am the designated contact person within the Search Committee. My contact information appears below in my email signature. Will be happy to answer any questions from any interested applicants.
Thanks to all for the help to spread the word.
Best,
Ivan
