See below for a reposting of a position I probably shared earlier this year. The position title might scare some qualified applicants away, but it is essentially the lead technician at Ohio’s inland fisheries research unit. The title makes it sound like a supervisor, but it is to help get a position description with a bit better pay grade given the responsibilities.

Please see below for a posting for a Fish Management Unit Leader. This posting will run through June 23.

Job duties:

  *   Oversee maintenance and repair of fish sampling equipment; vessels, vehicles, & trailers; and, the facilities at the Inland Fisheries Research Unit.
  *   Provide work direction, technical guidance, and training to personnel (i.e., seasonal employees) assigned to the work unit.
  *   Maintain equipment operation and maintenance logs; order and purchase equipment, parts, & supplies; and, complete inventory and fleet reports.
  *   Conduct and assist others with field assessment and research surveys throughout Ohio’s inland waters; collect data and enters sampling outcomes into databases.
  *   Participate in planning and provide information to the public.
