Subject: Post-doc (or PhD student) at UConn

Hey guys, hope you're all doing well. Could you please share the below announcement with anyone you know who might be interested?

The Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at UConn is searching for a post-doctoral researcher (or possibly a PhD student) to lead a historic freshwater fisheries data rescue/digitization effort for CT. Project goals are to design useful database structures, populate them, and then demonstrate the utility of the data through several quantitative modeling efforts targeting the effects of climate and urbanization on fisheries resources over time and space. The researcher will work closely with the state agency to collect historic data. The researcher will be expected to generate peer-reviewed publications from the resultant datasets and help mentor students supporting the project. Funding for two years will be provided. Starting date is spring/summer 2024. Post-doc candidates must have a Ph.D. in a related field and all applicants must have familiarity with common fisheries data types. The researcher will be supervised by Dr. Jason Vokoun. Interested individuals should send a letter of interest, CV, unofficial copy of transcripts, and contact information for 3 references to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Interested persons should feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just want more information.
