Bay Mills Indian Community is seeking applicants for a Great Lakes Fisheries Assessment Biologist.
The Great Lakes Fisheries Assessment Biologist reports to the Director of Biological Services for the Bay Mills Indian Community.  The Assessment Biologist is responsible for the implementation and continued development of the fishery assessment, research, and monitoring programs to aid the Tribe in managing commercial and subsistence fisheries in the 1836 treaty waters of the Great Lakes.  The position requires effective skills in fisheries biology, fisheries statistics, data management, project planning, administration, supervision of staff, communication with fishers and tribal managers.  The Assessment Biologist is responsible for assisting with cooperative fishery assessments as required by United States vs. Michigan Consent Decrees, estimating sustainable harvest levels and serving as a tribal representative on Great Lakes Interagency Technical Committees and 1836 Treaty Modeling Subcommittee.
