Dear All,
You are invited to 2 seminar presentations on ?Linking research to
action: The experience of 2 Nigerian agricultural economists?.
We are pleased to have two visiting professors from University of
Ibadan and Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria currently on campus.
They will be presenting some of their research findings and discussing
how they have been able to use their research to support the
agricultural policy process in Nigeria.
They are sponsored by the USAID funded Feed the Future Nigeria
Agricultural Policy Project. This is a 5 year project geared to
leveraging on research to support inclusive agricultural productivity
growth, improved nutritional outcomes, and enhanced livelihood
resilience for men and women in Nigeria.
The project has a strong capacity building component linked to
strengthening Nigerian institutions of higher learning.
Under a visiting scholars program, Nigerian graduate students come to
MSU for a semester (MS students) or 2 (PhD students) taking classes on
topics including statistics, econometrics and research design while
working with MSU and Nigerian faculty on research topics.
During their stay here their academic advisers in Nigeria also visit
MSU, hence the current visit of our 2 colleagues. Details of their
