> The Environmental Education, Assistant Professor will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, be involved in course and curriculum development, develop a program of research/scholarship, and participate on College and University committees and initiatives.

> Teaches courses that contribute to the general education program (e.g., BSC 1051C Environmental Biology of Southwest Florida, EVR 1001C Environmental Science) as well as upper division courses that contribute to the Environmental Education concentration in the B.A. Environmental Studies program.

> Opportunities may also exist for teaching graduate courses in environmental education.

> Involvement in local and regional research related to environmental education with active participation in the Whitaker Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education and/or the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Education.

> Contributions to ongoing curriculum development in the B.A. Environmental Studies and M.A. Environmental Studies degree programs.

> Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation. Demonstrated evidence of or potential for quality teaching in support of the Environmental Education concentration in the B.A. Environmental Studies program and in the M.A. Environmental Studies graduate program. Demonstrated evidence of research in environmental education. Interest in teaching across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, including general education. Interest in and experience engaging in outreach focusing on environmental education. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2017. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated strength or clear evidence of potential to develop a research agenda that includes the mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. Research interests and experience in environmental education in a formal school setting or expertise in communicating environmental science research to local communities.

> Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
> Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university.
