Greetings Visiting Scholars and International Students!!
Sorry to bother you if you are not interested in this post.
This coming Saturday is North America's July 4th celebration of
Independence; a national holiday. Your friends from URC/CE would like to
invite you to an outdoor BBQ and fireworks display to celebrate this
important holiday. If it is not raining we will be meeting in Mason, MI (a
rural town just south of E. Lansing) to commemorate the 4th of July

Where: 215 E. Elm Street Mason, MI 48854
Things to do and see on Saturday:
• Noon to 4 pm: Classic car show at the County Court House in
downtown Mason (a short walk from our home)
• 2 pm to 6 pm: The 7th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Company "B"
Civil War actors will have a display of Civil War artifacts at the Mason
Historical Society (next door to our house)
• 4 pm to 6:30 pm: BBQ. We will provide hot dogs / hamburgers /
chicken wings / drinks. If you can bring a dish to share with others please
do but if you cannot please still attend!!!! Yard games and fun
conversation will be provided.
• 7:30 pm to 8:30pm: City of Mason parade celebrating their 150th
birthday. The parade route is next to our house so you can easily watch.
• 8:30 pm to 11 pm: Ingham County Fireworks. We will make a short
10 minute walk to the County Fairgrounds to view the City’s fireworks
display.
So we can plan for food, please let us know:
1. How many people are coming?
2. Can you drive?
3. Where do you live?
