Ann Arbor Buddhist Society and
Lansing Buddhist Association invite you to
Public Talks and Retreat by
Venerable Kong Xin
Walking through 16 years as an ordained Buddhist nun, Ven. Kong Xin’s art
as a means of spreading Dharma has been inspired by her over 30 years of
meditation practice. Thus, she has earned a Master of Fine Arts in
sculpture, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Studio Art in the U.S., and
a seven year certificate in Buddhist Philosophy, Psychology, and practice
from the Malaysian Buddhist Institute. She has applied her studies
internationally by providing crisis intervention counseling, meditation
instruction, spiritual guidance, and creating artwork that expresses
spirituality in human terms, Humanistic Spirituality. In 2014, she
returned to homeland, Malaysia, for six months to engage in a three-month
individual retreat, delivering a series of Dharma talks twice weekly,
meditation daily, and led introduction meditation retreats monthly at
Purple Lotus Temple. Currently, her Art Creates Balance is exhibited in
Eisenhower Library, Norridge and Harwood Heights, IL. Her vision is to
bridge East and West, Zen and Art, while sharing Dharma practice together.
The events are free and open to the public. Donation is suggested to cover
the expenses.
