Hi folks,

I wanted to draw your attention to a tenure track position in Physics Education or closely related field open at The College of New Jersey, which has a cluster of Earth Science faculty within the Physics Department and a degree specialization in Geophysics.

This search is focused on someone trained in, or with substantial experience in, physics education research. This faculty member will be strongly involved with our strong dual major in Physics and Secondary Education, as well as with implementing modern pedagogical techniques in courses at different levels.

Teaching and research are mutually supportive activities at TCNJ. Candidates should be strongly committed to the teacher-scholar model, to maintaining both high-quality teaching and an active and productive research program involving highly motivated undergraduates, and to seeking external funding consistent with this mission. Our expectation is that a substantial portion of the new faculty members' research will be performed on campus and will involve undergraduates. Faculty members also serve as academic advisors and have service responsibilities within the College. A research laboratory and start-up funds will be provided for both positions. The Physics Department, which currently has eight full-time, tenure-line faculty members and approximately 100 majors, is housed in a modern science complex that offers state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities and instrumentation.
