*The Asian Veterinary R&D Center is launched in Zhangjiang,Shanghai,
which marks the expansion of Boehringer Ingelheim’s Animal Health business
in China. The Center, with a 12 million euro investment, is the largest of
its kind established by a multinational pharmaceutical company in China.*

*As a part of Boehringer Ingelheim’s international R&D network, the Asian
Veterinary R&D Center is positioned to develop new and innovative products
focusing on China and Asian markets. The center will be supported by our
research facilities around the world, and be a supporting member itself in
our global R&D organisation. The goal is to provide better solutions to
farmers to protect their animals from diseases and help to provide safe and
nutritious food to the people.*

*The Center, covering 1,900 square meters, is located within the Shanghai
Zhangjiang High-Tech Park. Scientists of this state-of-the-art facility
will carry out research covering all aspects of modern vaccine development.
The establishment of the center is set to enhance Boehringer Ingelheim’s
capacity of providing products meeting specific requirements from China’s
livestock farmers which will further more improve the food safety and
quality in the country. In addition, this research center will also provide
new job opportunities for local scientists, bring new bio-research
technologies to the country and in general improve the industry level.*
