Fellow Academic Specialists:
I have a few items to share with you.
Thank you if you attended the February forum on Social Media. Based on
the reviews, it was quite a success. A few pictures are posted on the
Academic Specialist webpage at

Tuesday, 29 March, is the next meeting of the Academic Specialist
Advisory Committee. You are invited to attend. The location is
Administration Building, Rm 443, starting at 11:00 am . The March
agenda and draft minutes from the January meeting are available at
http://academicspecialists.msu.edu/committee/minutes
Two important items will be discussed at the March meeting. First, the
new policy regarding annual reviews of Academic Specialist will be
reviewed. The second agenda item is the impact of Governor Snyder's
proposed tax on our retirement income. Renee Rivard and Dan Mackey from
the Benefits Office will review the current position on this topic.
The Pack-a-Lunch speaker begins at noon, lasting about 30-45 minutes.
Steve Troost, Office of Campus Planning & Administration, will give a
review titled: Campus Master Plan - Update 2011. Steve will provide
commentary on what the future will bring to the MSU campus with respect
to roads, buildings, green areas, and the sensitive issue of parking.
You are invited to attend the business meeting at 11a, or the
Pack-a-Lunch meeting starting at noon, or both. I look forward to
greeting you.
Cordially,
Mike
