I hope that all Academic Specialists are reading /The State News/ this
summer. I realize that that comment may be questioned on its relevance
to "work related" issues being covered in email to the Specialist
listserve, but it had to be made in order to make the next comment.
Please note the editorial in today's (6/03/09)/The State News/ where the
results of the recent vote by non-tenured faculty AND academic
specialists were editorialized. Not one sentence, word, or syllable was
devoted to those academic specialists who voted for or against the
unionization of people in two groups on campus: non-tenured faculty AND
academic specialists. Stephen Thomas - a non-tenured faculty - was
quoted on the results. Perhaps he should have required the reporter to
mention the non-tenured faculty AND the academic specialists.
