Hi John,
That somebody was me. We are working on rolling out the CommunityID
system with the Non Credit Enrollment system being the first
integrated service. If you (or anyone with a vested interest) would
like to contact me directly to discuss integrating CommunityID with
your system/service, then we can setup some time to discuss how the
system works, what is needed to proceed, etc.
The gist of the CommunityID system is that it allows anyone to obtain
a low-level-of-assurance Identity at MSU with "instant" activation and
resource provisioning.
We basically built a messaging system (JEE/J2EE) for service->service
message brokering, a self-service application which the users can
manage their ID with, and all of the hooks into the current MSU
identity infrastructure to ensure we can continue to support these
folks as they potentially strengthen their affinity with MSU (perhaps
become a student, staff or faculty member).
Again, if you are a service sponsor, and would like your service to
utilize this centrally supported "guest user" solution, please contact
me, either via e-mail ([log in to unmask]) or phone (2-5388).
./mk
