POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR FOR THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY CENTER FOR
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

The Center for International Business Education and Research at the
George Washington University (GW-CIBER), a National Resource Center for
International Business in Washington, D.C. funded under a Title VI
Program of the U.S. Department of Education under the unifying theme
of “Institutions and Development”, seeks to fill the position of
Administrative Director.

The Administrative Director will report to the GW-CIBER Director and
will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Center.
The Administrative Director will lead and organize several specifically-
focused assistants and will work with Faculty Coordinators from each of
the GW-CIBER’s focal areas and programs to provide support to faculty,
administrators, staff and students in work related to key areas of the
GW-CIBER.  The scope of supported activities is as follows:  (1)
student programs (for study abroad support, student-oriented
conferences and workshops, international career support services,
etc.), (2) technical and audio-visual support (for website development
and maintenance, conference and meeting support; archiving, publication
and digital dissemination of GW-CIBER products), (3)  outreach and
communication (service and communication to the GW, other university,
business, policy and non-governmental communities including donor
organizations; commercial
and certificate program development), (4) course and course materials
development (support for practicum organization, field work
administration and implementation, curriculum coordination, pilot
testing, publication and dissemination), and (5) K-12 outreach and
program development/administration, (6) administrative support for
faculty and student research conducted under the GW-CIBER and (7) grant
writing and reporting as required under the Title VI Department of
Education funding requirements, under GW University sponsored research
requirements and as related to on-going work related to opportunities
with other organizations and donors who may be interested in supporting
the work of the GW-CIBER.

The Administrative Director is a professional position, and desirable
qualifications include significant management experience in the
administration of complex and dynamic organizations and large scale
projects, oversight of federally funded grants, and expertise in
working with key stakeholders for the GW-CIBER including the
Washington, D.C. business community, policy makers, and government
officials.  This individual will have a proven track record concerning
issues critical to international business—further ensuring that the GW-
CIBER will effectively carry out its mission as a national resource for
international business education and research in the nation’s
capital.   The Administrative Director will be highly motivated,
creative and able to thrive in a dynamic work environment, and will be
enthusiastic about working with a diverse group of individuals both in-
person and virtually on a range of tasks and programs.
