~Open Meadows Foundation Women's Fund Programs - great for start-ups!
Offers grants up to $2,000 to projects that are designed and implemented
by women and girls; reflect the diversity of the community served by the
project in both its leadership and organization; promote building
community power; promote racial, social, economic, and environmental
justice; and have limited financial access or have encountered obstacles
in their search for funding.

~Common Counsel Foundation’s Grassroots Exchange Fund
Supports social change organizations to seek technical assistance from
one another, and to help build regional and national networks among
organization

~Youth Service America Youth Venture Funding
Thirty awards of up to $1,000 in start-up funds will be available to
young people (ages 12-20) who want to create new, sustainable, and
civic-minded organizations, clubs, or businesses ("ventures"). These
ventures must be youth-led and designed to be a lasting asset to the
community.

~United Methodist Women Brighter Future Grant
Funds small-scale, community and church-based programs and projects. For
this reason, groups affiliated with national organizations, hospitals,
and organizations with budgets totaling more than $3,000,000 are not
normally within the realm of funding.

~Louis R. Cappelli Foundation Grant
Seeks educational programs that encourage collaboration among schools,
parents and agencies to address innovative educational programs that
encourage and foster the learning process for at-risk children.

~Bemporad Baranowski In-Kind Services Grant for Cause Marketing Campaign
A package of in-kind services worth $100,000 to create and launch a
cause marketing campaign for a nonprofit organization and its corporate
partner.

~Commonweal Foundation Educational Community Assistance Grants
Supports educational programs and projects assisting disadvantaged youth
in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia.

~Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Resident Funds Program
Supports pediatric residents in the planning of innovative,
community-based initiatives that increase children’s access to medical
homes or specific health services not otherwise available. Grants of up
to $3,000 are awarded twice each year on a competitive basis for
pediatric residents to address the needs of children in their communities.

~Fund for Global Human Rights Grant
Applicant organizations must work to defend or promote human rights. The
fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations working to promote
respect for human rights in the countries and regions in which they are
based.

~Langeloth Foundation Grant
Promotes and supports effective and creative programs, practices and
policies related to healing from illness, accident, physical, social or
emotional trauma and to extend the availability of programs that promote
healing to underserved populations.

~2006 Annual Conference on South Asia Travel Grants
Travel grants available to advanced graduate students and language
lecturers and instructors in the South Asian languages whose proposals
are accepted for the 2006 Annual Conference on South Asia at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison.

~Union Pacific Foundation Community-Based Grant Program
Funds activities that improve and enrich the general quality of life in
the community, create a wider opportunity for the enjoyment of and
participation in the visual and performing arts, and organizations
dedicated to improving the level of health care or providing human
services in the community.

~The Chinook Fund
Supports grassroots groups working for peace, human rights, and economic
justice through social change in Colorado. The Chinook Fund is committed
to the transformation of society into one that promotes social justice
and freedom from oppression, including but not limited to racism,
sexism, classism, heterosexism, ageism, and ableism.

~Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP) Education Grants
Provides funding opportunities for small-scale education initiatives in
Southern and Midwestern states decided to increase awareness and
understanding of Japan in these states through support of teacher
training and related programs addressing the needs of the K-12 student
and teacher community.

~Administration for Children and Families National Responsible
Fatherhood Capacity-Building Initiative
Will fund an experienced national organization to deliver organizational
capacity-building services to community-based organizations. The funded
organization will identify and perform needs assessments for local
community organizations to expand organizational capacity and provide
assistance in: leadership development, organizational development,
program development and community engagement

~Administration on Aging National Minority Aging Organizations-Technical
Assistance Centers Grant
Will award projects that develop practical, nontraditional,
community-based interventions for reaching older individuals who
experience barriers to accessing home and community- based services due
to language and low literacy as well as other barriers directly related
to cultural diversity.

~NIH Establishing Comprehensive NCMHD Research Centers of Excellence Grant
Funds the establishment of Comprehensive NCMHD Research Centers of
Excellence which will focus primarily on minority health and health
disparities research and secondarily on research training and community
engagement and outreach.

~Fund for Global Human Rights Grant
The fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations working to promote
respect for human rights in the countries and regions in which they are
based. Proposed activities should contribute to the overall goal of
advancing human rights.

~National Science Foundation Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC)
Program
Funds projects seeking to increase the number of students who are U.S.
citizens and permanent residents receiving post secondary degrees in the
computing disciplines. Initially, its emphasis will be on students from
communities with longstanding underrepresentation in computing: women,
persons with disabilities, and minorities. Included minorities are
African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians,

~Blues Music Foundation Offers Funding for Blues Education and Preservation
Funds organizations in the blues world for programs to further the
celebration and preservation of the blues, promote blues education,
assist individuals and/or organizations with special needs, and/or other
worthy blues causes.

~Institute of Museum and Library Services Museum Grants for African
American History and Culture
Will support a wide range of activities to build professional capacity
in the African American museum community. It will assist staff at
museums to gain skills and knowledge in the areas of management,
operations, programming, collections care, and other museum skills
identified as a high priority by applicants.

~Department of Education Minority Disability Business Technical
Assistance Centers Grant
Funds projects that plan and conduct research, demonstration projects,
training, and related activities to develop methods, procedures, and
rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and
integration into society, employment, independent living, family
support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with
disabilities.  The projects must address, in whole or in part, the needs
of individuals with disabilities from minority backgrounds

~Sociological Initiatives Foundation Grant
Funds social-action projects that focus on understanding and finding
solutions to a broad array of social problems. The foundation's primary
goal is to encourage research, including community-based research, that
supports and promotes social change.

~Minority Biomedical Research Support Awards
Funds programs designed to increase the number of researchers who are
members of minority groups that are underrepresented in the biomedical
sciences.

~Open Society Institute Middle East/North Africa Initiatives Program
Supports organizations and their projects that work to foster freedom of
expression, access to information, women's rights, the rule of law,
local governance, and educational reform in the Middle East.

~Women's Foundation of Minnesota Social Change Fund Grant
Provides resources for projects that are designed to have a significant
impact on societal attitudes and behaviors toward women or girls or that
result in systems change. The Social Change Fund is directed toward
women’s and girls’ groups, projects, or organizations from across
Minnesota that build equality for women and girls in their communities.

~Agency for Health Care Research and Quality Minority Infrastructure
Support Program (M-RISP)
Supports programs that work to increase the capacity of academic
institutions predominantly or substantially serving minority racial and
ethnic minority populations and the faculty at these institutions to
conduct health services research that has the capacity for being
disseminated, implemented and translated into practice and policy.

~Asian American Arts Alliance Small Organizations Arts Regrants
Funds Asian/Asian American arts groups and artists' collectives that
have ties to an Asian/Asian American community, for projects that:
preserve, reflect, or increase understanding of Asian/Asian American
experience and increases the visibility, outreach, or effectiveness of
your organization.

~Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Research Grant
Funds basic science studies; clinical studies for improved treatments;
translational research; complementary and alternative medicine;
diagnostic methods; environmental factors; genetic epidemiology; diet
and nutrition; psychosocial support; prevention; survivorship research;
and other imaging techniques/studies.

~NASD Investor Education Foundation Better Investing Decisions Grant
Funds projects that research, develop, test, and evaluate ways of
applying contemporary financial theory to promote better life-cycle
investing decisions. Successful projects should include an assessment of
current financial theory and related behavioral studies, a pilot phase
to test and refine the application of financial theory, and rigorous
evaluation.

~Native American Public Telecommunications Public Television Program Fund
Funds programs in many genres including documentary, performance,
cultural/public affairs and animation. Projects submitted to this
solicitation must be intended for national public television broadcast.
Assignment of exclusive broadcast rights for four years, off-air
recording rights, educational, home video, foreign distribution and
Internet broadcasting rights are included in NAPT’s Production License
Agreement.

~Compassion Capital Fund Communities Empowering Youth Program Grant
Awards funds to build the organizational capacity of experienced
organizations and their partnering faith-based and community
organizations to better meet the needs of America's disadvantaged youth.
It will assist its faith-based and community partners through technical
assistance and training in four CEY critical areas: leadership
development, organizational development, program development and
community engagement.
