Apologies for cross-posting:
Greetings!
I would like to tell you about an opportunity to develop and benefit from a
forum through which students can address issues related to research and
graduate studies. Women in the Academy of International Business (WAIB), a
"co-ed" special interest group of the Academy of International Business, is
committed to supporting students and is asking for your help in this
endeavor.
Specifically, what common concerns do students have that can be lessened by
pooling the expertise of WAIB members? For example, do you have questions
about preparing for comprehensive exams, coauthoring papers, or calls for
papers? Is obtaining research funding a black box? Is there a particular
forum (e.g., a website or special student list serve) that would be useful
for accessing such information? I am gathering your suggestions and will
submit them to the Executive Committee of WAIB. Your input will direct our
efforts and help us to provide a relevant, useful service to students.
For those of you who might be new to WAIB, it is 400-members-strong;
membership is open to women and men, and is FREE. The mission of WAIB
includes promoting networking, mentoring, and gender-related research. You
can access the website at http://cibs.tamu.edu/waib/ .
If you have colleagues who might be interested in joining WAIB, please let
them know it is very simple to do! Just go to the WAIB new member web page
( http://cibs.tamu.edu/waib/new.html ) and complete the registration form.
Again, there are no fees to become a member.
Please feel free to contact me with any your suggestions, or questions or
comments you may have.
Sincerely,
Lisa Williams
