I know of at least a few MSU people who subscribe to one or more of the
email lists out at Techrepublic.com for technical information. They
have a feature where you can create a contact's list, and then add other
TechRepublic members to that list. This month, they are having a
drawing for a $250 Amazon.com gift card, if you have four or more other
TechRepublic list members on your contact's list by July 31st. (see
details below). I'd be happy to let MSUNAG members on TechRepublic list
me as a Contact, as long as you are willing to return the favor of
course. Among the list members, it shouldn't be too hard for us to each
reach four contacts in short order.
If you are a current subscriber to one or more TechRepublic mailing
lists, and you have an updated profile on TechRepublic, you can look me
up using their People hotlink, then search by username (which is my
email address [log in to unmask]). Search for me, click on my user
name, then click on "Add to my Contacts" and it's done.
If you haven't been to www.techrepublic.com to check out their mailing
lists, white papers, and general tech info, I do highly recommend their
web sites. There is plenty of good content in their free areas, so much
that I've not yet been tempted to join and pay for their value-added
services (Called TechProGuild.) I'm not just saying that for the
sweepstakes! They generally have decent, well researched articles, good
white papers, and decent downloads of everything from how-to-guides to
sample policy papers and tech task checklists.
