Have you tried replacing the battery?
We had a similar problem with a number of 6 - 12 month old Optiplex systems and new batteries cured them. In bulk the CR2032 cells are about $1.00. www.batterybob.com
As to the image issue, I understand and sympathize. Are you creating the image on one board and then moving the hard drive to the other to pick up the changes between systems?
