Is the following e-mail from David Gift still operative? I.e. is it something that is appropriate to use as a reminder to people? I should probably ask the Vice Provost's office, but I thought I'd ask here first, anyway, just to see if it is something that anyone else uses. I haven't been able to find it anywhere on the msu.edu web.
I've had some bandwidth hog issues to deal with, and I don't know that the bandwidth hogs are doing any copyright violation. But I have looked at ip addresses in packets enough to suspect that something like BitTorrent is being used. Actually, in one case I know it was. And I know there is some use of it for legitimate purposes. But I was thinking of sticking this in peoples' faces, along with other information about what steps I will take to preserve bandwidth for people who need to get work done.
