candidate for election to an officer position within WAIB (Women in the
Academy of International Business), a special interest group of AIB.
As a member in good standing in WAIB, you may nominate yourself or a

Members of WAIB are subject to the Constitution and Bylaws of AIB, and
there is no separate levy of membership dues for membership in WAIB.
All members of AIB may opt to join WAIB.

goals of the group are to:
1. Encourage networking among women faculty, administrators and PhD

c. Maintaining an electronic webpage, accessible through the webpage of
the parent organization AIB, for informational purposes and archiving
of administrative materials. See

2. Encourage one-on-one mentoring, linking female junior faculty and
doctoral students with senior women faculty and administrators, as a
way to increase the number of women who specialize in international
business studies education, research and administration, and other
related disciplines.
3. Encourage research on gender-related issues in international
business and other related disciplines.
The current officer team includes Lorraine Eden as Founder of WAIB,
myself as President, Susan Trussler as Vice-President, Hildy Teegen as
Secretary-Treasurer, and Susan Forquer Gupter as Member-at-Large.
Each of these offices is available for election, IN ADDITION TO a new
officer position as Doctoral Student Member-at-Large.
Terms of office shall be for TWO years coinciding with the annual
conference of AIB.
A final draft of the WAIB Constitution and By-Laws will be emailed to
you separately in a few days for your information. Please review this
document for details about the organization of WAIB and a description
of responsibilities for each Officer position.
[NOTE: This document will be presented to the WAIB membership for a
formal vote of approval at the annual business meeting of WAIB in
Quebec City on Monday July 11 from 7.00am-8.30am (location of the
meeting to be announced).]
In order to nominate yourself for an officer position, please send a
