I would like to enable instructors to mirror the monitor output from any
computer in a classroom to their own computer, which would be connected to a
projector for all students in the class to see. It would be a way for
students to share their work with the class during discussions or
show-and-tell. This can be done via software but I was wondering if anyone
was already doing that and what their experience was.

Hi,
I guess I need a little more information. How do you want this to be used?
Do you want to share the instructor's screen with the classroom?
If so, what would be the advantage over using a projector? Do you want to
share any student's monitor with another? Do you want to monitor the
student's monitor from the instructor's station? Is this confined to each
classroom, or do you want a computer in room A to share its monitor with
some computer in room B? Any other items that would help clarify what you
want to do would be helpful.

I am interested in testing out IP based software for monitor sharing in
classrooms. Ideally this would be cross platform. What are people using?
