Hi,
My home service was switched to the ADSL service about 6 weeks ago. The
switch over wasn't as smooth as it could have been - the service was
switched before I had the new modem and after installing the modem I had
to make a service phone call to get the throughput increased. Since the
initial setup, the service has been quite reliable. I don't think I've
noticed a single downtime and connections via ssh to machines on campus
will stay open for days. The routing for the ADSL is fairly circuitous
- so latency to campus is about 50ms. The bandwidth is around 300KB
down (haven't clocked the up rate). My apartment is about 10,500 feet
from the head-end.
Anyways, I'm pretty satisfied with the ADSL.
Cheers,
Tom Rockwell
