The text of the announcement is as follows:
Eden Elected Fellow of Academy of International Business
Lorraine Eden, professor of management and a Texas A&M Faculty Fellow,
has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business
(AIB). Eden is the first faculty member at Texas A&M University to
receive this honor. AIB is the leading association of scholars and
specialists in the field of international business, with nearly 3,000
members in 65 countries around the world.
AIB members are honored by being designated as AIB Fellows in
recognition of their contributions to the field of international
business. There is a maximum cap of 60 active Fellows, so new Fellows
can be elected only when vacancies occur. In order to be elected, an
individual must be nominated by two Fellows and receive positive votes
from at least 60 percent of the voting Fellows. There are six women AIB
Fellows; Eden will be the seventh.
Dr. Eden will be inducted into the Fellows at the annual meeting of the
Academy of International Business in Stockholm, Sweden, in July 2004.
