Government Relations Intern

 

Dynamic nonprofit professional Association is seeking a motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented individual to support Government Relations initiatives for the 2012 summer season.  Assistance with coordination and implementation of Political Action Committee, Legislative Advisory Group, grassroots and fundraising activities is the primary focus of the position.

 

Requirements:

·                                 Completion of two years of a Bachelor’s degree program in related field

·                                 Strong oral and written communication skills

·                                 Strong computer literacy skills

·                                 Entry level customer service experience

·                                 Knowledge of legislative and political processes

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support all legislative and political action activities including meeting implementation, maintaining legislator information and records of correspondence
  • Provide administrative/clerical support
  • Maintain accurate website content
  • Assist with coordination of grassroots program and fund-raising activities
  • Some travel within the state of Michigan
