Latin American and Caribbean Studies Fellowship

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies announces a competition for fellowships to support international research or study in Latin America. Fellowships may be used to defray the costs of an MSU-sponsored study abroad program or research in Latin America. Applicants may be undergraduate or graduate students and preference will be given to students enrolled in the Center’s specialization program or the Global and Areas Studies–Latin America major. This is both a merit and needs based scholarship.

Submit one hard copy of the following materials to 300 International Center, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48824-1035 by March 1, 2012. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applications should include:
1. Why you choose this location and program or research project if not a study abroad program;
2. How this experience will contribute to your personal, educational and professional goals;
3. Discuss why you need this scholarship and how you will use it;
4. Other information you would like us to know.

If offered a scholarship through the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at Michigan State University, I understand I may be required to participate in activities before or after my experience abroad as a condition of my award(s).
