Subject: Invitation to public demonstrations of Future LMS options
Dear Colleagues, please share this invitation with faculty, staff, and
students in your department.
Libraries, Computing and Technology (LCT) is in the process re-examining
commercial Learning Management System (LMS) options to find a
replacement for ANGEL, which will be unsupported by its vendor after
October 2014. On February 6, 2012, several bids were received in
response to the LMS request for proposal (RFP).
The selection of MSU’s next LMS will be made by the LMS Futures
Committee and LCT based on input regarding features, functionality, and
strategic considerations (cost, licensing terms, etc.) as described in
the RFP bids. The LMS Futures Committee will be comprised of
representatives from each academic college appointed by college deans
and LCT.
Feedback from faculty, staff, and students during open public
demonstrations will also be an important part of the final LMS decision.
The MSU community is invited to attend the public demonstrations listed
below, which will be presented by vendors of Blackboard and Desire2Learn.
(Two times are offered for each LMS demonstration, but the presentations
will be the same.)
