Content-Type: text/html Lutheran Social Services of Michigan has started up a new Refugee School Impact Program in Lansing and is looking for volunteers! The program will work with refugee students and their families to help the students succeed in school. Volunteers are needed to offer after school tutoring to students, serve as mentors, and to assist program staff with group meetings for both youth and parents. Additional volunteer opportunities are available for those with language backgrounds in the native languages of the refugee participants (primarily Burmese, Somali, Arabic, and Nepali, as well as Spanish, French, Hmong, and Swahili).
