This is kinda a tangent of web development, but it should be pretty cool.  One of our students on campus developed a kiosk system with Flash/Flex that ties into a webcam and lets visitors experience wearing the historical masks that are on tour.

Subject: [FLEX-GROUP] Michigan Flex Users Group Meeting - Thursday - Making of the MSU Museum Kiosk

Hey Everybody!

Tomorrow, Thursday April 21st at 7pm we will be hosting Ryan Ward from Michigan State University's Physical Plant to talk about a Kiosk he created for the MSU Museum.  This presentation will cover the MSU Museum's Mask kiosk and its approach to using transparent container images and camera feeds with multi face detection. We will run through a camera feed and transparent container image example and discuss camera feed and face detection performance concerns while taking a look at some of the kiosk code.

We will be meeting at the MSU Museum, which is not our normal meeting location.  Directions to the MSU Museum can be found on MSU's Website.  Visitor parking is available at the Grand River Parking Ramp located here (2 blocks walk).  We will be meeting at the main entrance of the museum, located on the south side of the building.

The meeting will not be recorded or broadcast live.

Lost? Call me (Nick Kwiatkowski) at 517-432-2528 , and I will be happy to direct you!

Hope to see you there!
