The MSU WebDevCAFÉ next meets this Thursday, March 17th at 2:30pm in room 224 Erickson Hall.
Thursday will be a topic-driven meeting, featuring a presentation and discussion led by Cynthia Ghering (University Archives and Historical Collections) focusing on new efforts to archive the University’s websites and online publications. Cynthia will be joined by her colleagues, Ed Busch and Lisa Schmidt. The Archives recently surveyed administrators and technologists about unit websites in order to gather data and inform the work ahead. What new roles will the web development community play in helping to preserve the University’s history? This meeting will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about this effort as well as provide valuable feedback to its leaders. It promises to be an interesting discussion of a topic that may touch all of us in our professional work. Given the reach of the topic, I am also extending an invitation to the University Communicators network to join us. As always, we will have coffee for the meeting.
I look forward to seeing you Thursday!
Take Care,
Burt
