I know, I know… First problem is, it’s
Eudora. However, I have a few users that just WILL NOT switch to
outlook. And this issue is baffling, regardless of the fact that the user
is using Eudora.
THE SETUP:
This user has two instances of Eudora 7.1.0.9
installed. In two separate directories. That’s not a
problem. It’s designed to be able to be used like that. They
have each instance hooked up directly to an MSU mail account. So, both accounts
are on MSU’s mail server.
THE PROBLEM:
Some users, when receiving email from one of these Eudora
instances, get the subject, but a blank body. As soon as they click Reply
or Forward in their mail client, be it the MSU web mail, or Outlook, or Mac
Mail, can see the original body of the email.
THE PECULIARITIES:
This only happens when mail is sent from one of the two
instances of Eudora.
All of the Eudora settings are the same, as far as I can
tell.
It does not happen to everyone. Some Outlook users are
fine. Others are not. Some Web Mail users are fine. Others
are not.
THE CONSTANT:
If someone experiences this issue when receiving mail from
this account, they will always have this issue.
Does anyone have any freaking clue what could be causing
this? I have 3 other users that use Eudora, and don’t have this
issue at all. They can send to everyone just fine without an issue.
Thanks for any advice or places to look. I have
googled this and the only issue that comes up is from 2007, relating to Outlook
and 3rd party integrated email client virus scanning. I do not
use that. So that shouldn’t be an issue.
Thanks!
