Dr. Greg Gibson (Professor and Director of the Center for Integrative Genomics at Georgia Tech) will be giving a talk here at MSU as part of the Science at the edge seminar series, on Friday, November 20 11:30 AM , 1400 BPS.
Greg has been largely interested in the influence of the environment on the expression of genetic variation in general, and on genome wide gene expression phenotypes in particular. While most of Greg's current research focuses on
environmental influences and lifestyle on gene expression in humans, he has also done extensive work in Drosophila Evolutionary and Quantitative Developmental Genetics, and thus has a unique perspective, and always asks really interesting questions. In addition,
Greg is a great post-doc mentor (personal experience here). Greg will only be around for a short time (on Friday), but there is room for a few meetings. If you would like to speak with him, please contact me (Ian Dworkin, [log in to unmask]).
