SEMINAR TO HELP LOCAL BUISNESSES LEARN

HOW TO BECOME A GOVERNMENT SUPPLIER

Manistee, Michigan – Did you know that the Michigan government marketplace is valued at more

then $19 billion? Did you know that you can become a supplier to the State and use this as another

avenue to grow your business?

If you own or operate a business and are interested in becoming a supplier to the State of Michigan you

will want to reserve a seat at the March 27, 2008 Buy Michigan First seminar.

Facilitated by the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at Northeast Michigan

Consortium in Onaway and offered in cooperation with the PTAC at Northwest Michigan Council of

Governments, this seminar will be at the University Center at Gaylord from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The seminar is free, but registration is required. Interested businesses or individuals need to call Deb

Representatives from the State will be on hand to provide knowledge on how to do business with the

State of Michigan, how to become a registered State vendor and how to bid and win State contracts.

Whether you sell milk or electrical supplies, commodities or computers, chemicals or construction or

janitorial services, you have potential as a Michigan vendor. Property owners with office or warehouse

space to rent may also find opportunities with the State. The State of Michigan’s need for goods and

services is far ranging.

Patrick Bubin. “Business-to-Government, or B2G sales channels include both federal and state

procurement. Much of our PTAC services are directed toward federal contracts or subcontracting, but

we also make an effort to regularly present learning opportunities on doing business with the State of

Michigan. This is one such occasion and businesses should take advantage of this seminar to learn how

they could become a State of Michigan supplier.”
