If you own or operate a business and are interested in becoming a supplier to the State of Michigan you will want to reserve a seat at the March 27, 2008 Buy Michigan First seminar. Facilitated by the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at Northeast Michigan Consortium in Onaway and offered in cooperation with the PTAC at Northwest Michigan Council of Governments, this seminar will be at the University Center at Gaylord from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The seminar is free, but registration is required. Representatives from the State will be on hand to provide knowledge on how to do business with the State of Michigan, how to become a registered State vendor and how to bid and win State contracts. Property owners with office or warehouse space to rent may also find opportunities with the State. The State of Michigan's need for goods and services is far ranging. "The government marketplace can be another avenue to grow a business," says PTAC Coordinator Patrick Bubin. "Business-to-Government, or B2G sales channels include both federal and state procurement. Much of our PTAC services are directed toward federal contracts or subcontracting, but we also make an effort to regularly present learning opportunities on doing business with the State of Michigan.
