Rich,

Please forward the following message to the Webmasters.

The Web Accessibility Site has been revised and was launched August 4, 2005. Dave Gift has asked me to invite your group to comment on the Web Accessibility Site's new content * and * on the new Draft Accessibility Guidelines for MSU Web Sites.

Web Accessibility Site   http://www.msu.edu/webaccess/

The Web Accessibility Site includes new downloadable templates and accessible CSS style sheets and access to lots of information about "Reaching the Broadest Possible Audience with Accessible, Usable & Aesthetically Pleasing Design". The home page features RSS feeds for the avid IT news hound. The site is designed to help both the novice and the skilled user find what they need about accessibility on the site.

Like the Templates, the Guidelines is the a section we are trying to make more user-friendly for those less familiar with technology. The Guidelines come from a number of sources which we have tried to restate in plain, more easily understood, language. We are trying to aim these more toward an average reader rather than a techy person. You can help by giving us some additional feed back.

Draft: Accessibility Guidelines for MSU Web Sites http://www.msu.edu/webaccess/principles/wsag.html

  1. Are these Guidelines easier to follow than the source documents (from W3C, Section 508, etc.)?
  2. Have we been successful???
  3. If not, how can we improve?
  4. Do you have any other suggested articles that would help users understand the concepts presented?

Please send your comments and questions to me at [log in to unmask]du" target="_blank"> [log in to unmask] by August 12, 2005. Thank you for your time and effort.

Charmane
