Position: PhD Assistantship
Salary: Stipend plus tuition

Responsibilities: Successful applicant will develop dissertation to
experimentally test hypotheses about the evolution of diel vertical
migration in the opossum shrimp Mysis diluviana. Research will focus on
experimental approaches, supplemented with modeling and/or fieldwork.
Qualifications: BS and MS in relevant fields and a strong interest in
experimental ecological research. Strong quantitative and organizational
skills required.
Position: MSc Assistantship

Responsibilities: Successful applicant will examine Atlantic herring
bioenergetics in the context of foraging behavior, environmental change, and
food web dynamics in the Gulf of Maine, with a focus on how alterations to
the lower food web may propagate up through herring and impact apex
predators such as bluefin tuna. Research will have an emphasis on modeling,
with some field and laboratory work likely.
Qualifications: BS in relevant field and an interest in ecological modeling.
Strong quantitative skills required. Experience with MATLAB or similar
programming environment is highly desirable.
