Here at MSU Surplus we use WipeDrive. Its a program that overwrites the hard drive with 1's and 0's. If the HD is bad we shred those. Drilling a hole will also work, how many HD's are you looking to have wiped/destroyed?

Is there a degaussing station or hard drive shredder on campus? If not, how are you disposing of old drives? Wiping with a LiveCD? Drilling a hole through it?
