This is an entirely new development for me -- all of ours exhibiting the
Bad Voodoo are NOT networked printers, but directly attached (either USB
or LPT).  You are saying you had the spell on a JetDirect connected HP
printer, and getting new firmware on the JetDirect cast out the demons?

cleared up the problem with a HP4550N we had.
