Just clear things up, or at least attempt to ;)
Current version of GroupWise (7.x) does support iCal, which allows others send appointments/tasks to GroupWise users as email attachments, but does not support CalDAV. However there is definitely more than one way to manage your email and calendar through the same application:
- Standard GroupWise Client (Windows, Mac, Linux)
- GroupWise WebAccess (not sure why Ray can't use this for his calendar)
- GroupWise Connector for Outlook (Allows someone to use the MS Outlook client)
- Thunderbird or another email/calendar program that supports SOAP
- GroupWise Mobile Server (allows you to sync or push email and calendar data to PDAs, phones and other mobile devices)
In the upcoming version of GroupWise (v8), which will be release sometime this year, they are supposedly adding CalDAV support. This will add the ability to connect to a GroupWise system with a CalDAV-based client. In addition to this, or actually probably in conjunction with it, this version will also allow users to publish calendars to the web and also subscribe to other published calendars.
I'll wait until after Brainshare (March 16-22) to comment anymore on current/future abilities of GroupWise.
