We've made Office 2007 available in our department to anyone who wants 
it, all our staff is using it - but unless specifically requested 
everyone gets office 2003.

So far we've had no real compatibility issues since all our computers 
have had the '07 compatibility patch for Office 2003 since it came out 
this spring.  You can also setup Office '07 apps to save in the older 
format by default.

No plans for deploying Vista anytime soon, maybe SP1 will change that 
but I have my doubts.
