The closest replacement I know of for the Merit dial-up services is MaGlobe
(http://www.maglobe.com/). They claim 26,000 local access numbers in the
U.S., 30,000 worldwide, plus an 800 number. They offer considerably more
local numbers in Michigan than Merit does. One of our faculty members used
this as a supplement to Merit Global and it worked well for him.
