Subject:      Testing of Intrusion Detection/Prevention system

To all interested parties:

We will be testing an Intrusion Detection and Prevention system (IDP) on
Thursday, May 26, 2005, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.  The IDP system will
be monitoring traffic at the campus border, between MSU and MichNet (and
the rest of the Internet).

The IDP will be specifically monitoring and blocking traffic in categories
which have the highest likelihood of being unwanted traffic.  Examples
would include checks for Nimda and Code Red, and a number of published
buffer overflow exploits.
