Andrew probably got this working already, but just as an fyi:
I run Debian, only had to change a few things from the default install.
Changes in smb.conf:
security = domain
realm = mydomain.msu.edu
password server = ip_or_FQDN_of_PDC

Then all I had to do was initiate the command
net join
with the appropriate arguments (use "net help join" to figure out what
you need to specify). Of course these commands may or may not be present
on different distros.

And... That was it, works perfectly fine now, took about 30 seconds to
do.

Subject: [MSUNAG] Linux ->windows domain

Does anyone have any good links to join a Linux system with samba to a
windows 2003 domain?

I found this, but never tried it:
http://www.wlug.org.nz/ActiveDirectorySamba

Thanks
