Yes.
and no.

But before I get to that, it is important to note that we had a
problem with our virus scanning software, which in effect did not
catch the MyDoom.2-M on the vast majority of the e-mail front ends
until just a few minutes ago. At the current rate, we will block well
over one million of these virii today.

But back to your original question; yes the virus check is run against
*all* e-mail sent via SMTP regardless of sender, recipient, etc.
The "no" part of the answer is that webmail does not use SMTP. This
means that if a user sends a message via webmail, it is not scanned.
We are looking into solutions for dealing with this problem.
